Ronald S. Lane of Business Protection SpecialistsMr. Lane brings more than 25 years of security director and security consulting experience to the BPS team.

Having served in the United States Army as a commissioned officer as well as a Gulf War Veteran with 20 years in combat operations, line command, and staff positions, Mr. Lane also worked as an independent security consultant and as Director of Security and Business Continuity/Chief Security Officer for one of the largest international law firms. He has prepared implementation recommendations and action plans to promote appropriate security to meet best practice and regulatory guidelines for a diverse client group, from human service groups to high-risk chemical and security sensitive organizations.

Mr. Lane specializes in working with organizations that have little to no security experience and excels as helping them build an efficient, organized, cost-effective program to protect what they value. His expertise extends beyond general security program development for policies, procedures and security systems to risk assessment, crisis management, and emergency response training to help clients mitigate risks in areas never before addressed.

Military Service and Awards

  • Served as Chief of the US Military Liaison Office, US Embassy Port-au-Prince, during the 1993 through 1995 crisis in Haiti. Advised Unified Commander (four-star general). Briefed Senators and Representatives
  • Successfully completed diplomatic assignments in West and Central Africa
  • Served as the US Military Security Assistance Officer within the US Defense Attaché Office (DAO), Dakar, Senegal
  • As Defense and Army attaché at the US Embassy in Chad, served as the Senior Defense Representative and Advisor to the Ambassador
  • Decorations include Legion of Merit, two Bronze Stars (one for Valor), and two Defense Meritorious Service Medals
